The Research Associate is responsible for generating cellular material for validation of Abcam’s antibody products, ensuring our products are validated in the optimal models for our customers.

This position reports to the Team Leader and is part of the Cell Sciences team within R&D located in Waltham, Massachusetts (US), and will be a lab-based role (on-site). At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Perform mammalian cell culture of adherent and suspension cell lines to generate cellular material for antibody validation, conducting compound treatments where required to upregulate biomarkers

• Generate QC lysates from cell pellets and tissue samples for use in antibody validation pipelines

• Assist in developing and optimizing new cell treatments for improved antibody validation process

The essential requirements of the job include:

• A BSc and/or MSc. in a Life Sciences subject

• Practical experience in culturing mammalian cells in an industrial environment

• Excellent attention to detail with good organizational skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Culturing more complex cell types (primary cells, stem cells)

• Understanding of antibody validation

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $ 46,000 to $60,000 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
