ManpowerGroup SAP DVM Consultant in Waltham, Massachusetts

Our client in the technology industry is seeking a SAP DVM Consultant to join their team. You will be part of the IT department supporting the Archiving and Decommissioning team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in decommissioning and archiving of SAP application data, traceability, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure alignment of decommissioning and data archiving initiatives with business goals.

Job Title: SAP DVM Consultant

Location: Waltham, MA - REMOTE

Pay Range: Based on experience

What's the Job?

  • Define and coordinate the technical tasks for the development of the software and interfaces.

  • Assist in budget for internal hardware/software.

  • Create/Manage architecture diagrams/plans.

  • Work with vendors.

  • Serve as the interface between the developers, across all vendors and the project manager.

  • Ensure the development meets the desired outcome.

  • Has strong technical skills and often develops the architecturally significant components of the SAP Successfactors and integrated LMS software system.

  • Ensure all the developers understand the big picture because their work has implications.

  • Know the status of the development work and detect slippage.

  • Communicate technical issues/decisions effectively to PM and Sponsor by using business terms.

  • Define Technical Roadmap, from collaboration with relevant parties/vendors, based on current state conceptual design.

  • Identify: a. Decisions Needed b. Concerns c. Risks, with mitigation strategy and plan.

  • Understand Interfaces, hardware requirements/needs, identify and ensure dependencies defined and met to ensure connectivity and all integration, functions, inputs/outputs are delivered.

  • Identify key test approach requirements and focus areas.

  • Analyze existing SAP landscapes to determine decommissioning requirements, identifying opportunities for system optimization and cost savings.

  • Execute data archiving solutions, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring easy accessibility post-decommissioning.

  • Proficiency in database management systems to handle large volumes of data during extraction, archiving, or migration.

  • Develop and implement tailored decommissioning strategies, focusing on system shutdown, data extraction, and secure migration to archives or legacy systems.

  • Ability to map data relationships and profiles within the system to identify what needs to be archived, retained, or deleted.

  • Understanding of syntax conversion from source database to target database.

  • Proficiency in documentation tools and techniques to create comprehensive reports detailing the archived data, its location, and relevant metadata for future reference or audits.

What's Needed?

  • 8+ years of SAP DVM and archiving experience.

  • 3+ years of SAP/Non-SAP system decommissioning experience with at least two successful decommissioning deliveries.

  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, to ensure alignment of decommissioning and data archiving initiatives with business goals.

  • Ability to design and enforce data archiving strategies, encompassing data classification, retention policies, and efficient storage solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate technical issues/decisions effectively to PM and Sponsor by using business terms.
