VMware Sr Manager Business Development in Waltham, Massachusetts

The Sr Manager of Business Development is responsible for the ongoing development and growth of Carbon Black’s sales development program made up of 30+ SDRs on three teams located in Waltham MA and Boulder CO. The teams drive new business through lead generation, contact nurturing and opportunity development for the Carbon Black inside and field sales organizations. The Sr Manager of Business Development will be required to support the teams through mentorship, sales coaching and training, weekly 1:1 meetings, and career development discussions/planning. Experience with innovative lead development and lead generation programs, analysis and reporting, and sales process optimization are critical for this position.

What You’ll Do

  • Recruit, train, develop, motivate, mentor and coach early career sales development managers and sales development representatives in pursuit of opportunity generation goals

  • Oversee three teams of 8-10 SDRs

  • Measure, inspect and deliver on KPIs

  • Ensure attainment of monthly, quarterly and opportunity generation targets

  • Refine, document and continuously improve all sales processes

  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing and Channel teams to develop lead generation for net new and add-on sales

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives in support of sales process improvement and enablement

  • Oversee and advance nine month training program designed to develop the SDRs into quota-carrying reps

  • Ensure Productivity Tools/technology stack is current, relevant and helps teams to deliver best-in-class results

What You’ll Bring

  • Current or previous management experience, experience managing Managers preferred

  • Experience working in a quota-carrying role

  • Passion for mentoring and coaching young professionals

  • Demonstrated ability to translate data and metrics into actionable business insights

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills and business acumen

  • Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills

  • Career champion, with proven experience in coaching and developing reps and managers

  • Proven success in creating and implementing sales programs and tools that motivate teams

  • Proven ability to manage through change

  • Goal-oriented, passionate, high-energy professional

  • Deep experience with sales productivity tools

  • Experience selling software - high-growth SAAS experience a plus

  • 8+ years combined sales and sales management experience
