We are excited to share an opportunity for the role of Technical Application Specialist II within our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in providing second-tier technical support for our handheld safety and security products line (https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/industrial/spectroscopy-elemental-isotope-analysis/portable-analysis-material-id.html) . Your main responsibilities will involve assisting customers via telephone, email, and web-based support tools.

A day in the Life:

  • Provide technical and product support for customer inquiries regarding Thermo safety and security instruments (https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/industrial/spectroscopy-elemental-isotope-analysis/portable-analysis-material-id.html) .

  • Act as a technical support engineer for hardware, applications, and software problems.

  • Serve as a centralized liaison for customer communications into service and repair departments.

  • Develop technical support and knowledge-based tools to assist customers in resolving issues.

  • Supervise technical support trends and provide monthly reporting metrics.

  • Conduct web-based and phone-based product training for rental inquiries and orders.

  • Support sales and marketing for demonstration units, including calibration and application support.

Keys to Success:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent work experience in materials science, physics, chemistry, electronics, or related subject.

Experience:

  • Strong preference for experience in XRF and LIBS based spectroscopy or related analysis tools.

  • Confirmed experience in providing phone and email technical support.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including with a global clientele.

  • Validated high degree of customer service and care competence.

  • Strong technical or scientific proficiency with a desire for learning and advancement.

  • Natural problem solver with collaborative negotiation skills.

  • Tight-knit teamwork skills with the ability to nurture agreement among team members.

  • Upbeat individual seeking career advancement in technical engineering or application development.

  • Confirmed skills in a customer or technical support organization.
