Trust Services Marketing Manager

Job Description:

Individuals use trusts to preserve and protect their assets and control how they are distributed and used. They also use trusts to provide professional management in the event of incapacity. A $68T in wealth transfer is expected over the next 25 years. An estimated 49% of HNW individuals already have a trust and 37% are interested in finding someone who can help them set one up. Our trust services group is uniquely positioned to help advisors and clients understand trusts and help incorporate this into their overall financial plan. Trust services marketing helps to educate clients, prospects and centers of influence to increase awareness and drive engagement. The Trust Services marketing manager will be responsible for leading and implementing the product marketing & sales enablement strategy to raise awareness of these capabilities and grow assets.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Developing growth strategy for ultra high net worth and high net worth segments across Merrill and Private Bank

  • Ensure the strategy and the messages are coordinated with Segment groups, Merrill Leadership, Private Bank Leadership, Digital Team

  • Timely and effective development, execution and management of marketing and communication strategies and campaigns

  • Develop messaging ensuring alignment with brand messaging and value of advice

  • Ensure connectivity of messaging into broader marketing strategies including our content and social media programs

  • Develop impactful advisor & specialist support including program education

  • Develop project plans and execute delivery of product launches, platform enhancements and sales enablement opportunities

  • Create and maintain core product marketing content

  • provide effective project management and leadership on all initiatives from inception to implementation

  • Help build cohesive, consistent messaging and product positioning

  • Measure effectiveness and produce reports of accomplishments and business impact

Qualifications/Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Marketing discipline preferred

  • Social media experience including Twitter, LinkedIn, websites, electronic communications 

  • Financial services experience with knowledge of trust or investments is preferred

  • 3+ years of marketing experience preferably within financial services

  • Digital marketing experience

  • Experience working across products, channels and LOBs to facilitate execution and is well respected across teams

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams;

  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills

  • Manage in fast-paced, demanding, client-driven environment; ability to manage within tight deadlines and be able to manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Be able to effectively impact and influence others

  • Flexible, adaptable with demonstrated ability to navigate in ambiguous circumstances
