Fresenius Medical Care North America VP, Medical Officer of In-Center Dialysis in Waltham, Massachusetts

Fresenius Medical Care, an $18 billion company and largest Kidney Care company in the world, is seeking a VP, Medical Officer of In-Center Dialysis .

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Supports the Global Medical Office mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the company Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and company policy requirements. Collaborates with the appropriate stakeholders to plan, develop and implement strategies and related initiatives to advance the utilization of the clinical project and programs at the In-Center Dialysis level ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Provides direction, leadership and guidance as needed to facilitate adoption of “industry leading” knowledge within the company.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership of overall objectives through the application of thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company’s mission and core values as a means to effect positive change and/or create organizational structure within the In-Center Dialysis division.

  • Provide senior level medical expertise in the care of people with kidney disease and ESKD (End Stage Kidney Disease).

  • Provide medical counsel for the design, development, and execution of medical strategies for products in support of care of ESKD patients

  • Support and coordinate the medical approach to providing oversite of regulatory discussions, research and strategies with the Quality and Regulatory Global Medical Office leadership team.

  • Participate in publishing, speaking and leading discussions in the field of dialysis and ESKD care

CRITICAL DELIVERABLES:

  • Develop and coordinate with the biomedical evidence generation teams that execution of the clinical trial programs that advance products in the In-Center Hemodialysis

  • Plan with the Medical Education Teams the aligned educational, advisory board and planned relationships regarding the value proposition of In-Center Hemodialysis product portfolio

  • Plan and elaborate the innovation opportunities within the field of In-Center Hemodialysis care

  • Lead operational efforts to complete the administration of business processes and services to ensure the operations effective achievement of goals within the assigned business unit(s).

  • Responsible for the development of strategic plans to ensure successful implementation of action plans and objectives where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of the company, competitive environment, technology and economic or social implications of organizational activities.

  • Develops and implements strategic plans and objectives for the direct departments in alignment with corporate strategy. Participates in the development of business unit- or division-wide strategies. Oversees the direction and approval of tactical administrative or operational policies and resource allocation decisions to ensure the achievement of objectives.

EDUCATION & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Physician (MD or DO)

  • 15+ years’ experience.

  • 10+ years experience as Nephrologist or related field

  • 10+ years managing staff AND 5+ years’ experience internal senior management level role (e.g., Vice President); or 5+ years’ external experience in a senior management level role.

  • Proven experience operating in a matrix environment

  • Published research in ESRD is desirable

  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong educational background.
