As part of the Analytics & Behavior Change function, this team helps lead our mission to be a customer-centric, data-driven organization. This team tracks and helps grow CVS’ customer journeys through franchise by identifying opportunities and optimizing customer strategies derived by analyzing trends in customer shopping behavior, needs, intents, and responses. The team leverages advanced analytics, machine learning, and a hypothesis-driven approach to quickly transform data into actionable, customer-centric insights in fast-moving and energizing environment. The ideal candidate should be detailed oriented with the ability to quickly understand complex situations, manage multiple urgent tasks at the same time and have a proven track record of communicating in an open and honest way that quickly builds trust and respect.

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer is an exciting opportunity to work data related to a wide range of customer interactions and analytics. This role will be responsible for end-to-end, large scale deep learning model design, development, and deployment with support from data engineering and ML Ops. This role requires continuous learning and improvement for both the business subject matter expertise and emerging algorithms, techniques and their applications. Moreover, in this role you will establish software and ML development best practices, create workflow efficiencies, mentor junior team members, work with distributed computing for model training, and serve as the go-to MLOPS expert for the rest of the team.

Additional responsibilities include:

Build and facilitate deep learning model design, development and deployment across large scale systems, enabling continuous model deployment, retraining and version updates in partnership with data engineering and ML Ops.

Develop and participate in presentations including technical design and product strategy reviews with existing and prospective constituents on analytics results and solutions.

Interact with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization.

To be successful in this role, you must come from a background in AI research and development with a strong knowledge of software engineering and experience designing and building scalable and data intensive machine learning products.

This position will be based in one of our Analytics Hubs (Boston/Wellesley, NY, Chicago, Dallas/Irving, or Woonsocket, RI). Will work a hybrid schedule in office 3 days a week every other week.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 or more years of progressively complex related experience

  • 3+ years of experience building end-to-end machine learning models and data intensive systems in production

  • 3+ years of Data Science experience with strong focus on software development best practices

  • 3+ years of Python, SQL, and MLOPS best practices

  • 3+ years of experience in GCP

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrates strong ability to design and build distributed data-intensive products

  • Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur

  • Experience in Causal Inference and RL is a plus

  • Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling and in-depth specialization in some areas

    Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Master’s degree or PhD preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $206,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
