VCA Westboro Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our amazing team! VCA Westboro is a thriving multi-doctor practice in the beautiful town of Westboro, MA. Our hospital has an strong reputation in the community built on 25 plus years of delivering exceptional client experiences and quality medicine.

The role demands a compassionate and dedicated individual with the interpersonal and organizational skills to continue achieving our goals of delivering excellent patient care and customer service to our clients and patients.

As a member of the VCA Westboro team, your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering exceptional patient care and an outstanding client experience—so they will partner with us for the lifelong care of their companion animals.

The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent client service skills

  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn new programs

  • Compassion for pets and people

  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment

  • Willingness to work some non-traditional shifts, including nights, weekends and occasional holidays.

  • The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.

Duties: The following is a list of essential job requirements. This list may be revised at any time and additional duties not listed here may be assigned as needed. Job functions and job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting doctors with exams and appointments

  • Venipuncture and catheter placement

  • Surgery preparation, assisting and patient recovery

  • Anesthesia monitoring

  • Digital radiology, including dental radiographs

  • Dentistry

  • Electronic record keeping

  • Client relations and education

  • Laboratory

  • Pharmacy

  • Staff training and mentoring

  • Marketing

  • Inventory
