Description
Associate Quality Assurance Engineer
The Associate Quality Assurance Engineer will test PPT’s Network Analytics software solutions across all supported platforms, using a combination of manual and automated testing techniques, to ensure they meet or exceed PPT’s quality standards and are suitable for public release.
What you’ll be doing:
· Acquire a thorough understanding of and comply with Entuity’ s software development life cycle and its associated processes.
· Work with QA Manager and Development Manager to translate functional specifications into a thorough set of test cases, and document as appropriate using the QTest system.
· Continue to work closely with the Product Manager and software engineers throughout the software development life cycle to capture additional test scenarios and acceptance criteria covering both functional and non-functional requirements.
· Perform manual execution of test cases, capturing the results (in QTest) and logging a detailed report for any bugs found into the defect tracking system (Jira).
· Development and maintenance of automated test scripts.
· Detailed bug reporting and providing help on reproducing issues, along with constructive feedback to software engineers.
· Configuration and maintenance of the QA test lab, and all networking equipment contained within, to support the various scenarios under test.
· Aiding support with the reproduction (or not) of customer issues.
What we’re looking for:
· 0-2 years’ work experience in software testing field.
· Base level understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS).
· Solid Linux and/or Windows experience.
· Good verbal and writing skills.
· Self-motivated and quick learner.
· Having an analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
· Demonstrate good personal time management to meet project objectives and deadlines.
· Be able to clearly communicate complex problems / solutions to colleagues.
· Knowledge of database technology (MySQL, MariaDB).
· Basic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, Routing/switching protocols, Security).
· Virtual machine and hypervisor administration (VMWare, Oracle Virtual Box).
· Familiarity with network tools (Wireshark, traceroute, GNS3, FTP/SCP).
· General understanding of network management.
· Experience working on projects as part of a team.
Bonus Points:
· ISTQB foundation certification.
· Experience with UI automation (Selenium).
· Scripting/Programming experience (ideally Python and/or Java).
· Commercial Work experience.
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree required.
