Equally, EOEEA works with energy consumers, power companies, clean energy providers and farmers to delicately balance the interaction with environmental protection laws and regulations while being a cornerstone for our economic prosperity. _Job Opening:_ TheDepartment of Fish and Game, seeks applicants for aBioMap Outreach and Development Specialist to perform the following duties: Position Overview: The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (DFW) is responsible for the conservation - including restoration, protection, and management - of fish and wildlife resources for the benefit and enjoyment of the public. BioMap, a joint project of MassWildlife and the MA Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, is a framework for strategic protection and stewardship of those lands and waters that are most important for ensuring a climate-resilient landscape that protects the Commonwealth’s rich natural heritage for current and future generations. An updated BioMap, accessible atwww.mass.gov/biomap, was released in Fall 2022. The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife is accepting resumes and applications for the position of BioMap Outreach Specialist - Contractor assigned to the Field Headquarters / 1 Rabbit Hill Road / Westborough, MA. This posting is for up to two contractor positions. This position is anticipated to be a term-limited contract position, with an anticipated start on or around October 15 and ending on June 30, 2025. This position is up to 40 hours per week. $37.00-$37.97 per hour, depending on experience, including $2.68 payment in lieu of benefits. This is a seasonal contractor position with no benefits, except earned sick leave. The position is assigned to the MassWildlife Headquarters located in Westboro and follows a hybrid model involving a mix of remote and in-person work. A cover letter and resume must be submitted as part of the application process and attached “as relevant” to the requisition. * Position Overview: The BioMap Outreach and Development Specialist is responsible for a wide range of outreach and development activities to promote and improve the new BioMap conservation planning tool. Responsibilities include providing individualized consultations and technical assistance to BioMap users; developing communications materials and tutorials (print and online); educating users about new and enhanced BioMap features including local scaling; developing relationships with key partners who will help publicize and educate their constituents about the updated BioMap; and helping incorporate BioMap into the 2025 State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP). The BioMap Outreach and Development Specialist will also be responsible for writing engaging written content for the website, supporting mapping tools that demonstrate best practices in habitat restoration techniques, and creating or updating related website content. The BioMap Outreach and Development Specialist reports directly to the Communications Coordinator and will work closely with personnel from MassWildlife’s Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program. *Duties: * Schedule, promote, and lead engaging in-person and online programming to help potential users (land trusts, municipalities, communities, and other government agencies) understand how to use BioMap. * Provide technical assistance and individualized consultations to BioMap users that align with community needs, support community goals, and provides equitable access to BioMap resources for all Massachusetts communities. * Develop and improve written communications materials and tutorials (print and online), including enhancements to the interactive BioMap website. * Contribute to the development of written content in BioMap’s Habitat Restoration Resource Centerand other supporting habitat website content, with assistance from MassWildlife habitat management and restoration staff * Assess user engagement of BioMap and its components, including the online mapping tool and written resources, and work with BioMap team to recommend modifications to the site. * Gather and promote case studies from users to demonstrate how BioMap has been applied by various groups to advance conservation. * Contribute to incorporating BioMap into the 2025 State Wildlife Action Plan, including creating and updating fact sheets for Species of Greatest Conservation Need. * Perform other duties as assigned.
