Metal Fabricator & Welder

Westborough, MA

7am-3:30pm, ½ Hour Lunch

OT as required: 10 Hour Days starting at 5am as needed

Description:

• Responsible for operating vertical and horizontal band saws, chop saws, drill presses, welding equipment and Bridgeport Milling Machine

• Responsible for assembling rail systems using powered impact drives and a variety of hand tools

• Use power washing equipment to clean certain products with general use degreasers

• Work with hot places to melt and subsequently weld rubber sections together to form an infinite variety of transitions

• Drive a fork truck to load and unload pallets of rubber, pull rubber off, cut rubber to proper length using a band saw

• Welding Rubber: Use heated plates to squeeze two pieces of rubber together and smooth, resulting seam with small iron

• Occasional Building Maintenance: Perform a wide range of repairs requiring the use of mechanics hand tools, drills and table saws

  Fabrication & Welding Experience Required:

• Must be capable of reading blueprints

• Experience required using tape measures and protractors to measure distances and angles

• Must be capable of welding aluminum in varying configurations

• Must be capable of lifting metal rails and packing wooden crates with straight and transitional configured pieces

  Other Requirements:

• Forklift Experience required

• Must be safety conscious

• Must be able to lift up to 30-50lbs occasionally

• Must be able to add and subtract whole numbers and fractions, understand angles, subtract and add angles

• Must be able to read a ruled down to a 16th inch increment

• Must have steady hand coordination and dexterity
