JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to provide HSE expertise and guidance, assist in the development/improvement and execution of procedures and operational guidance, execute the HSE team’s goals and objectives to ensure safe and compliant manufacturing and R&D operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of regulations that govern Environmental, Health and Safety. They will also have strong understanding and experience in Machine Safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take proactive measures to identify potential safety hazards and environmental risks associated with robotics manufacturing and R&D activities, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Develop and execute safety inspections, audits and training content as needed for new processes, equipment and projects.

  • Investigate near misses, incidents or unexpected behavior and develop concrete proposals to mitigate and prevent future incidents based on comprehensive root cause analysis.

  • Provide support for monitoring injury, illness, and incident related performance. Supports the development and implementation of strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required.

  • Provide health, safety and environmental regulatory compliance support and reports findings, concerns, and deficiencies. Responds to client/customer/member concerns regarding HSE matters and will have the support of both the client and CBRE leadership teams to utilize stop work authority in alignment with Amazon and CBRE requirements of identifying unsafe acts or conditions that require hazard controls before proceeding.

  • Support compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Client Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and client policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

· Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, health, and safety (EHS) or equivalent is required. Minimum of 2 years of years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree or equivalent in internships, senior projects, or capstone in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, robotics) or EHS related subjects (i.e. water chemistry, environmental science, etc.).

· Fundamental knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety and environmental regulations such as OSHA, EPA, etc is essential.

· Strong understanding of general safety principles and regulations applicable to manufacturing and R&D environments.

· Experience working in manufacturing, production, or robotics related environment.

· Proven track record of successfully implementing HSE programs and initiatives.

· Proficiency in incident investigation techniques and corrective action implementation.

· Demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams and driving results in improving HSE performance metrics.

· Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adapting the approach to meet the needs of customers, business and program stakeholders, and engineering teams involved

· Ability to self-manage priorities and deliverables. Flexible in responding to changing demands, goals, timelines, and priorities

· Ability to collaborate and lead in a flexible, detail-oriented, fast-paced team environment in a changing and growing organization

· Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner, excellent critical thinker with problem-solving skills, ability to think big and insist on highest standard while having the ability to work cooperatively in a team setting

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety procedures and guidelines to diverse audiences

ADDITTIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

· Good documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills such as, but not limited to, relationship management, negotiating, and dealing with difficult personalities.

· Solid problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

· Experience with initiating and completing risk assessments

· Good computer skills in usage of MS Office Suite

· Having professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CHMM are a plus

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with a sense of urgency. Adhere to all Amazon company rules and requirements.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set result and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $80,000 annually [or $38.46 per hour] and the maximum salary for the position is $90,000 annually [or $43.26 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
