Eversource Energy Manager, Gas Control SCADA and Technology (Hybrid) in Westborough, Massachusetts

Role and Scope of Position:

Manage, lead and oversee effective SCADA system operations in support of Gas Control and other applications associated with Gas Control. Contribute to providing a reliable and continuous supply of natural gas to customers while ensuring the safety and risk reduction by ensuring continuous, reliable monitor and control capabilities on the Eversource Gas System. This position ensures achievement of goals and objectives consistent with the Company mission.

This is a hybrid position. The first 90 days are full-time in the office.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads SCADA design, configuration, and commissioning on multiple projects and provides oversight and guidance
  • Coordinates with project managers, engineers, and SME’s to ensure SCADA requirements are met and project timelines are achieved
  • Reviews and provides constructive input for operational changes, projects and provides technical input;
  • Leads, oversees, and implements the development of technical SCADA requirements including networking design,
  • Manages and participates in the design, implementation and troubleshooting of control logic for programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Manages and participates in the design, implementation and troubleshooting of Human Machine Interface (HMI) software.
  • Manages, installs, maintains and troubleshoots the SCADA networks and the SCADA PCs.
  • Insures that work on new and modified control systems includes preparation of project scope and P & ID drawings through user interview, PLC and HMI program testing, documentation and training.
  • Insures in-house and consultant compliance with the SCADA standards.
  • Monitors in detail the SCADA programming, testing and startup work.
  • Creates and maintains up to date records and documentation on SCADA network and PLC installations.
  • Manages SCADA tag databases and coordinates any necessary changes.
  • Insures that SCADA data is backed-up on local nodes and on the network archive system.
  • Ensures proper training is conducted with all personnel on the SCADA programs
  • Oversee work schedules, ensure coverage and perform ongoing reviews and management of the SCADA employees
  • Liaises with Operational Technology to evaluate and integrate security technologies to protect OT assets effectively.
  • Liaises with corporate IT group to insure corporate policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assess emerging technologies and trends to enhance the company’s security and reliability
  • Manages and maintains support systems for Gas Control, including OpLog, TiPs, GDA, PI, and others as needed.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Requires a high degree of knowledge in State and Federal codes specifically 49 CFR 192.631, LNG and LP Plant operation, natural gas transmission and distribution system configuration, pipeline construction techniques and methods, and gas regulator station /SCADA system operations
  • Must possess excellent communication and training skills
  • Must understand gas pressure and flow relationships, remote telemetering, and remote control
  • Requires strengths in GIS mapping systems, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Power Point, Visio, and Lotus Notes
  • Must have excellent work management, prioritization skills
  • Must possess the ability to read and understand plans, schematics and GIS systems.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and subject to random drug testing.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business related Discipline or equivalent experience

Experience :

  • Minimum of ten (10) years related work experience in an operational/managerial environment

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $137790 to $153100.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
