What you’ll do

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Human Resources (HR) who possesses strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of Human Resources practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, payroll administration, onboarding/offboarding, benefit management, HR reporting and auditing, leave management, and compliance. The Manager of HR is responsible for working cohesively and in liaison with the Director of Human Resources in developing, implementing and maintaining operational functions of the HR team. This role will work a hybrid schedule with the expectation of being within the Westborough, MA office 2-3 days per week.

In this role, you’ll also:

  • Oversee aspects of HR, including but not limited to employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, leave management, procedures/policies, and reporting

  • Develop and implement streamlined procedures to enhance employee capabilities within the HRIS

  • Implement policies and procedures to foster a positive and inclusive work environment

  • Develop data collection and reporting tools relative to federal and state regulations

  • Review and revise current procedures and policies to ensure up-to-date and accurate information is disseminated

  • Provide guidance and resource to staff relative to benefits available

  • Work alongside the Payroll Team to prepare for bi-weekly pay cycles

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Manage ongoing Human Resources audits (including NDT, AA, EEO, etc.)

  • Liaise with other functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of HR development, and to ensure they are fully informed of HR objectives, purposes and achievements

  • Keep management staff apprised of HR changes affecting overall business functions

  • Oversee daily work for up to two members of the current HR team

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience within Human Resources

  • HR certification preferred (e.g., SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR)

  • Five or more years in Human Resources with progressive growth

  • Two or more years of management or team leader/mentorship experience within HR

  • Proficiency in HRIS software, preferably ADP Workforce Now

  • Knowledgeable in areas of Human Resources including employee relations, benefits, HRIS, employment laws, and compliance

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to interact with staff and management in a way that fosters, trust, confidence, respect

  • Ability to be flexible and understand the needs of others

  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of the management team

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and accurately

  • Must be detailed, analytical and accurate

  • Recognize and maintain confidentiality of work materials as appropriate
