Astellas is announcing a Sr. Research Associate, Process Science & Technology opportunity at their Astellas Institute for Regenerative Medicine (AIRM) site in Westborough, MA.
Purpose:
Execute studies to develop or improved processes for cell therapy products. The results of this work will justify manufacturing process or product changes designed to improve product performance and yield or identify critical parameters of processes.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Work closely with other Process Science and Technology (PST) team members, conduct laboratory experiments and tabulate results
Perform short and long term cell culture experiments of established process protocols
Assist in planning and implementing the development of new processing materials, procedures, and products
Assist in lab material inventory and lab operation
Assist in cellular and molecular assay development and execution
Assist in establishing process parameters and improving manufacturing efficiencies
Prepare and/or review study reports
Qualifications:
Required:
BS with 4+ years or MS with 2+ in biotechnology field. Proficient in aseptic technique, mammalian-cell culture and assay experience. Broad-based knowledge of cell biology. Exceptional oral and written skills with experience in documentation.
Previous experience in process development of cell-based products and scale-up processes.
Preferred:
Experience with embryonic stem cells, iPS cells and their differentiation.
Experience with hematopoietic cell culture.
Experience with data analysis methods.
Previous cGXP experience a plus.
