Job Description

The Senior Manager of Sales Training ENT-VM-SI will lead the sales training duties for assigned business by bridging the Marketing and Sales organizations. The position will work closely with leaders in both organizations and prepare the sales force to complete their duties by developing and delivering new hire, FST development, continuing education, national sales meetings, product launches and selling skills.

Job Duties

  • Owns the development and delivery of new hire curriculum, including leading all new hires in assigned business through onboarding process and up to certification completion.

  • Owns the discovery, development and delivery of all continuing education materials and programs

  • Owns the process of driving the national sales meeting (and similar events) development and delivery materials and agenda.

  • Owns the co-development (along with marketing personnel) of training materials for new product launches, including the delivery of sales training material

  • Owns the sales process and selling skills development and delivery for assigned sales force.

  • Proactively identifies gaps in the skills of the sales force and develops/delivers materials and programs to address shortfalls

  • Builds strong relationships with Marketing and Sales leaders, working as the bridge between the corporate office and the field

  • Identifies, interviews and “hires’’ Field Sales Trainers, teaming with them to develop and deliver relevant training materials

  • Delivers product training for Enterprise Solutions, First Line Managers and other personnel in need of product information

  • Develops Field Sales Trainers to help drive full curriculum

  • Must travel with territory managers and RVPs annually (2-3x) to gain insights and bring experience back to classroom

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree or comparative work experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of successful experience required. Sales (Territory Manager or Sales Specialist) or comparative Marketing/Commercial/Clinical experience. Experience in healthcare (medical device or pharma preferred) with working expertise in hospitals and knowledge of US healthcare system.

  • Master-level presentation skills, both live and virtually.

  • Knowledge of US/Canada healthcare systems

  • Business writing skills. Able to write to both sales force and executive level

  • Can hold verbal conversations with customers (HCPs, sales and marketing executives and sales force)

  • Must be able to multi-task between competing priorities and manage several key projects to completion

  • Project mgt. with key stakeholders

  • Understands hospital/clinic sales process/selling skills

  • Travel: 25% plus, after pandemic. Courses will be held primarily in Westborough, MA and Center Valley, PA. Position may be home based, but must be able to travel to courses that may last 1-3 weeks

Preferred:

  • Successful experience in the ENT, VM, Surgical Endoscopy, SI or Energy space highly preferred.

  • High-level organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills—written, live and virtual

  • Possess strong business skills

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $116,751.00 - $163,452.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
