Job Responsibilities:
• Ability to write test cases based on the user stories, use cases and requirements for vailidity and feasibility • Analyzing requirements especially around the MU CEHRT EHR-Certification Criterion encompassing various aspects of our eClinicalWorks product.• Review functional specifications to provide timely and meaningful feedback on Functional Specifications.• Understand the scope of the test design with reference to scope of functionality adhering to Certification criterion by closely working with internal teams (e.g. Developers Product Analyst and CERHT Team) to determine the scope, identify system and application requirements and then create detailed, comprehensive well-structured test plan / test cases• Responsible for maintaining the Traceability Matrix between the Certification Criteria requirements and the new test cases, Jiras as well as already existing inventory such that a gold standard test suite exists for the various aspects of the EHR Regulatory Certification Criteria. Identify and implement test scenarios, create new test cases based on the new test case design format and ensure they meet the industry standards.• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities for CEHRT Test Suite on some regression cycles.• Perform thorough regression testing and / or change log testing for different builds as required for the CEHRT Test Suite.• Execute the regression tests before product releases to ensure software runs as expected• Reporting any defects and help analyzing and identifying P1 defects (Reportable events if a defect affects any of the certification criteria and cases report bugs/glitches.• Review / Peer review of test cases created by other peers and suggest any changes needed based on the 22-pointer checklist• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet industry standards and release goals.• Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies• Support quality assurance testing activities • Lead and support groups of engineers, provide guidance to team members, support regular and recurring audit meetings and communicate effectively throughout the organization and with external parties
Requirements
BS or MS in computer science w/o 2 years of experience
2 years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
2 years of experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
2 years of experience with server side programming using VB / COM (preferred)
2 years of experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
2 years of experience with Web Application Server(s)
Other abilities
Solid Understanding of test case design implementation and reporting bugs
Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
Proficient with relational databases
Knowledge of Java or .net (preferred)
Knowledgeable about QC and JIRA testing tools
Knowledge of XML / XSL
Understanding of N-Tier Architecture
Understands regression testing
Critical thinking and analytical skills
Good communication and teamwork skills to interact with project team members and stakeholders as well as work closely with the dev team – from reproducing the reported issue and emphasizing the fix for critical bugs to understanding how the bug has been fixed
Programming skills including coding, basic SQL knowledge to extract data for tests, XML, general web development skills
