Sr. SQA Engineer

job summary:

We are looking for someone able to lead the testing effort on a project being done with Agile software development practices. This includes assessing the software quality by designing and implementing a software test plan. This plan includes the creation of test cases to both identify issues with software before the product launch and to verify compliance to the Software requirements of the project. Duties include identifying and analyzing any bugs and errors found during the test phase and documenting them for review after. Other tasks include developing and running new tests, reporting on the results, and collaborating with software developers to fix program issues. By joining our team, you will take part in various projects, assessing software quality by designing and implementing software testing processes. You will take ownership of code quality through exploratory and automated tests. You will hunt bugs, identify issues, report them, and see that they are dealt with.

responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure products' software quality.

  • Translate product specifications into QA test cases to be implemented.

  • Create tests to identify software problems.

  • Document results of tests for the software development team.

  • Record software defects and track them through test lifecycle to resolve.

  • Analyze bugs and errors found during tests.

  • Isolate conditions to recreate testing problems and support problem resolution through core product knowledge.

  • Define product acceptance criteria with product owners and development team.

  • Offer test plans and test cases for testing responsibility spanning multiple concurrent projects.

  • Implement test plans and summarize testing status within project team and SQA team meetings.

  • Assess test plans, procedures and infrastructure for adequacy and completeness.

  • Develop and execute test scenarios and test cases on automated testing frameworks.

  • Recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience.

  • Motivate the development process for efficiency and performance.

  • Works together with the software developer to enhance and improve programs.

  • Assure software systems meet FDA 510k, EN 62304, and other approval standards as required.

  • Utilize Microsoft Visual Studio 2019+ and Team Foundation Server (TFS) to create and maintain source code, bug reports and requirements.

  • Champion conversion from manual testing to test automation

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in EE, CS, or a related field.

Skills

  • Practical compliance with medical device environment; FDA, ISO, and IEC62304 requirements

  • Extensive experience in software development and testing

  • Hands-on testing of complex hardware and software embedded systems, particularly in laser and RF-based devices

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Agile software development processes

  • Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of Coded UI or other test automation tools to help in the automation of software testing.

  • Working knowledge of test management software: prefer Project management (and defect tracking) with Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2017; Visual Studio Test Professional; Microsoft Test Manager
