The Department of Humanities at Regis College seeks an Adjunct Lecturer for the fall 2021 semester to teach Introduction to Acting. This introductory course offers students the fundamentals of acting, from training in basic stage behavior to character and script analysis. This course fulfills an undergraduate core learning requirement in expressive arts and has a required assessment rubric. Classes begin September 7, 2021; the course is scheduled Monday/Wednesdays 2:00 pm-3:15 pm. It is expected that anyone hired for this position would teach in person at the Weston, MA campus.



  • Renewal for reappointment beyond the fall 2021 semester is contingent upon performance effectiveness as determined by the Dean of School of Arts & Sciences and the Department Chair of Humanities.



  • Minimum qualifications: MFA or MA in acting, theatre arts/performance, or related field.

  • Demonstrated evidence of at least three years of prior classroom teaching experience at the undergraduate level; demonstrated experience with teaching non-majors is especially desirable.

  • Demonstrated evidence of familiarity with academic assessment.

  • Ability to uphold the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse learning community.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Humanities faculty to ensure consistency across class sections as needed.

  • Familiarity with the learning management system Moodle is preferred but not required.


Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.

  • May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
