Position Summary:
An independent engineering designer focused on Steridose mixers with ability to liaise directly with customers, sales, and represent IDEX MPT at ISPE and ASME BPE functions
Reports To: Business Line Director, MF Aftermarket and Steridose
Essential Functions:
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
Perform hands-on testing of the equipment you designed at the factory to ensure proper operation.
Assist manufacturing personnel with queries to review issues and assist in their resolution
Identify design improvements
Travel to factory in Waterloo Ontario as required (1-2 trips/quarter)
Travel to engineering based tradeshows such as ISPE and ASME BPE and represent IDEX MPT actively in subcommittees
Facilitate technical discussion with sales channel and customer stakeholders for complex projects
Using customer provided specifications, you will modify the design of our standard models to create custom process equipment and systems in Solidworks
Partner with outside stakeholders to create detailed assembly drawings and applicable detail drawings (Machining/Fabrication) required to manufacture the equipment you have designed.
Partner with outside stakeholders to create applicable documentation packages required for the project.

Education and/or Experience:
Mechanical Engineering Technician / Technologist Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent
2-5 years’ experience designing welded fabrications, machined components, rotating elements, and assemblies
Language Skills:
- Good written and verbal communications required
Computer Skills:
Proficient in SolidWorks 3D modeling and creating detail drawings
Experience working with Microsoft Suite products
Other Qualifications:
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues hands-on and remotely
Strong customer service orientation
Innovative and creative design skills with a strong attention to detail
Able to multitask in order to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Continuous improvement mindset
Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical controls would be an asset
