Eversource Energy Senior Revenue Requirements Analyst (Hybrid) in Westwood, Massachusetts

We have a unique opportunity to join our growing Regulatory and Revenue Requirements team.

The regulatory and revenue requirements team works to ensure a fair financial balance among the interests of regulators, customers, and shareholders through various legal proceedings in the state of Massachusetts.

The position is a non-traditional accounting/finance role where you will be working cross functionally to support regulatory filings submitted to the Department of Public Utilities (“DPU”). As an analyst you will have varying levels of responsibility in the preparation of regulatory filings which allow the company to recover the costs of investments made to maintain a safe and reliable system and meet state policy objectives.

You will prepare schedules to be included in distribution regulatory filings for Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut operating subsidiaries of Eversource Energy.

While maintaining a hands-on role in the preparation of the filings, you will contribute to driving regulatory strategy, supporting information requests and questions received from the DPU, Attorney General’s Office (“AGO”) and other stakeholders, while supporting the expert witnesses testifying to each filing.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides support to the regulatory process by preparing filings to the DPU (State) and FERC (Federal) that either request appropriate revenues, comply with regulatory mandates, or defend against positions that the Company finds objectionable, with a focus on filings that concentrate on the financial aspects of the business.
  • Develops and completes financial analyses and models that will support the filings in an ethical manner. Work products must be able to withstand challenges from opposing parties.
  • Develops/adheres to project plans and timelines, collaborates with multi-functional teams through the drafting of filing material, prioritizes tasks, raises/resolves disagreements and ensures timelines are met.
  • Coordinates the preparation of responses to discovery questions issued by regulatory agencies and interveners in support of the expert witness.
  • Interprets the impact of regulatory decisions and the environment to the rest of the organization.
  • Strong time management and organization skills, ability to adapt quickly to changing environments. This role works in an environment that often requires managing multiple tasks simultaneously where work is performed under pressure to meet expectations of key business partners who have differing needs and expectations.

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

  • Requires a strong knowledge of finance, both in practice and in theory
  • Requires familiarity with the principles and concepts of utility regulation, as well as with the Company’s operations and policies.
  • Requires excellent analytical skills along with good writing and oral communication skills.
  • Requires advanced Microsoft excel and spreadsheet modeling skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, related discipline with a strong quantitative background or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Five (5) plus years of related experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $103,000 - $114,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
