About the Job
Reporting to the Beth Israel Lahey Health Performance Network LLC (“BILHPN”) Director of Finance/Controller, the BILHPN Staff Accountant is responsible for performing the management of all aspects of the Operational Cash Management and Accounts Payable functions for this 5,000+ provider member Accountable Care Organization. These responsibilities include direct daily oversight of the treasury, cash management, payables management, and Affiliate intercompany management functions. Key competencies for success in this role are independence of action and comfort with independent decision-making/problem solving, along with strong written and oral communications and enthusiasm for inder-departmental teamwork.
Monitor banking relationship, including reconciling and recording cash receipts and disbursements daily and provides analysis vs operating budget benchmarks to Director weekly. Includes bank deposit preparation and delivery as well as daily (essential)
Performing and communicating detailed analysis of activity in various General Ledger accounts including bank accounts, and accounts payable aged trial balances; prepares daily standard journal entries and necessary accruals to make BILHPN and its two affiliate general ledgers reflect annual cash and payables operations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Maintaining vendor payment packages for compliance with BIDCO policy, completeness of documentation, and propriety of accounting treatment. Resolves discrepancies in any of the above areas. (essential)
During the year-end external audit, functioning as a resource and preparing detailed analysis and supporting schedules used by external auditors. (essential)
Displaying personal integrity when working with personal and sensitive financial information.
Assisting Senior Accountant in documenting procedures for various operations of Finance department.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accountancy
CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of relevant employment and/or internship experience in a for-profit Accounting environment.
Full time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri
