Eversource Energy Team Lead, Regulatory Compliance (Hybrid) in Westwood, Massachusetts

Our Team:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Internal Regulatory Compliance Team. In this role, the Team Lead will develop and manage regulatory compliance activities for Eversource to meet goals. Coordinates activities between other internal regulatory support functions and Eversource’s functional business units. Coordinates, prepares, and monitors regulatory obligations, responsible parties, and notification processes to ensure compliance. monitor activity at with regulatory bodies, provides technical regulatory support to internal business partners and communicates with external parties regarding regulatory compliance.

The role is based in Berlin, CT, Westwood, MA, or Manchester NH.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads compliance process improvement projects, especially those that have a strong cross-functional nature and are particularly complex.
  • Develops plans and timelines, leads teams through the drafting of process materials, communicating with affected staff.
  • Prioritizes tasks, facilitates meetings, acts as individual contributor on research or analysis work streams as needed, resolves disagreements, and ensures timelines are met.
  • Supports each jurisdiction, coordinates the intake and processing of all regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Research issues, works across multiple functions to develop solutions, and develops solutions.
  • Communicates within and beyond the regulatory organization.
  • Works effectively as a team with others in the organization including the Directors of Revenue Requirements in all regulated jurisdictions, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Strategy, Finance, and Engineering.
  • Serves as an effective conduit across the organization.

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of regulatory policies and practices
  • Previous work in a Utility regulatory environment.
  • Understanding of Utility ratemaking processes; Utility organizational structure and functions; Utility accounting and finance
  • Extensive resourcefulness to anticipate, define and direct solutions to complex and/or unusual regulatory issues
  • Knowledge of and experience with regulated utility practices.
  • Knowledge of regulated utility compliance activities; discovery, regularly scheduled filings, legal interactions, and docket mechanics.
  • Demonstrated ability in working across functional / organizational boundaries
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Ability to think and act strategically
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fluency in concepts related to emerging utility technologies (e.g. distributed energy, grid modernization, storage, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Possesses a high degree of personal ownership and accountability
  • Ability and willingness to work with integrity and maintain high ethics

Education:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Advanced degree, law degree or paralegal certificatepreferred

Experience:

  • 5+years experience of related experience is required

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires sitting, standing, and general movement throughout the office area.
  • Must be able to work emergency storm assignments as required.
  • Our hybrid schedule is 90 days in the office and then move to hybrid flexible schedule.

Compensation and Benefits

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position starts at $120,740.00 to $134,150.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
