Provides advice and transactional legal services to Eversource personnel and management. Represents Eversource in commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Represents Eversource before regulatory agencies. Prepares and reviews contracts and other transactional documents. Contributes by assuring protection of Eversource interests in commercial transactions and by maximizing recoveries/minimizing loss exposure in litigation or regulatory proceedings.

The Eversource Legal Department is seeking a highly motivated attorney at the Counsel level to join their team in the Berlin, Connecticut, Manchester, New Hampshire or Westwood, Massachusettsoffice. Thisposition will report to the Assistant General Counsel – Energy Supply, Renewables & Siting and will be responsible for representing Eversource’s interests in a broad range of energy transactions and infrastructure projects, including siting and permitting energy facilities in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and/or New York and familiarity with the regional energy markets in New England and New York. In addition, the successful candidate should be willing to take on responsibilities in other practice areas within the Department, as business needs may require.

Technical Knowledge/Skill: Candidates for the Counsel position must have experience siting and permitting energy facilities as well as solidtransactional/contractingexperience, including real estate, electricity/gas commodity purchase agreements, and agreements with federal, state and local governmental agencies, among others. Excellent written and oral communications skills are required. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, resourceful and able to handle a broad range of contractual and other transactional matters. Counsel will be expected to work collaboratively with clients, other in-house counsel, company management, consultants, vendors and, in certain matters, outsidecounsel. Beinga good team player, well-organized, flexible and able to identify business-oriented solutions to complex legal problems are essential qualities for success in thisposition. Thefollowing experience, though not required, would be considered a plus: environmental laws and regulations and real estate.

Education: A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required.

Experience : A minimum of (5) five or more years of relevant experience required.

Bar Admissions: Admission in good standing to one or more of the Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and/or New York bars is required. Admission to the Massachusetts bar is considered a plus.
