State of Massachusetts Assistant Residential Supervisor (MHW IV) in Whitman, Massachusetts

The Brockton Multi Service Center Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) Group Living Environment (GLE) Program operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a dynamic candidate who will serve as Assistant Residential Supervisor for one our programs located in Whitman, MA. The Assistant Residential Supervisor will provide direct care to ACCS persons served and will support the administrative operations & supervision of staff at the GLE. The selected candidate will support the implementation of policies, protocols and the delivery of services to best meet the needs of persons served. Will also provide oversight and supervision of the assigned shift, Medication Administration Program, and support compliance with policies, regulations and procedures. _Please Note:_This position is 40 hours per week. The selected candidate will work Sunday through Thursday on the second (evening) shift 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. The days off are Friday and Saturday. Employees in this position will be required to perform mandatory overtime. _Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):__ * Will serve as the Assistant Residential Supervisor for the GLE. * Provide supervision and modeling of effective person-centered approaches for all 2nd shift MHWs throughout the three State Operated GLEs. * Provides feedback and engages staff in strategies to maintain or improve program operations as well as engaging clients therapeutically. * Ensures adequate staff coverage on the 2nd shift within the three State Operated Group Homes is met. Provides leadership and support in the Group Living Environment (GLE) to ensure the safety and care of persons served and positive morale of staff. * Performs environmental surveillance operations in the ACCS Group Living Environments (GLE’s) to ensure compliance with established standards, regulations and protocols. * Provides direct rehabilitative services and supports to persons served. * Acts as an advocate for persons served and maintains a trauma informed, person centered approach. * Participates in the development and implementation of Community Service Plans. * Adheres to MAP policies and maintains certification; provides direct MAP-related supports to persons served and supports MAP program operations. * Assist the Residential Supervisor in ensuring program compliance with DMH Compliance Reviews, DPH MAP, Joint Commission and DMH Licensing standards by reviewing and implementing these standards and maintaining contact with the landlord, The Dir. of Facility Operations, and the ACCS Director regarding any facility concerns. * Drive clients to and from destinations in the community using the program vehicle or their own personal vehicle as needed. *Preferred Qualifications: * * Experience working with people with chronic/persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders * Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience * MAP Certification * Previous experience working in a residential setting * Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency *Special Requirements:*_ Please note in accordance with an agreement between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Mental Health and AFSCME/Council 93, employees assigned to a work unit where the Medication Administration Program (MAP) is used are required to pass MAP certification within 6 months of entering the position or 3 examination opportunities, whichever comes first. Employees are required to maintain MAP certification as long as you are working in said program.
