Hub International Early Career Summer Occupational Health and Safety Intern in Wilmington, Massachusetts

As a HUB Summer Intern you will be exposed to the vast career opportunities within the growing insurance brokerage industry. Working with our team of experienced risk consultants, you will learn about property and casualty loss prevention and how safety management effects commercial insurance. You’ll learn through on-the-job training and working closely with a variety of HUB subject matter experts to gain hands-on experience across a variety of disciplines.

  • Full-Time Pathway: Our program is strategically designed to identify and nurture exceptional talent. Outstanding interns will have the opportunity to transition into full-time roles upon graduation.

This is a full-time, 10-week internship with a pay rate of $22 an hour.

Summary:

The Intern will work on special projects to support client service efforts and senior field consultants.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Consult with senior consultants to understand project needs and objectives.

  • Develop safety programs based on OSHA, DOT, NFPA and industry best practices.

  • Advise clients on best practices in risk mitigation and safety management strategies.

  • Develop management/employee training programs and materials for clients

  • Conduct loss analysis & trending to identify client focus areas

  • Perform audits/assessments at client sites

  • Provide overall support to the consulting team

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Safety, Insurance, Fire Safety, Loss Prevention, Environmental Health, or Engineering

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Reliable transportation and open to weekly travel to client sites

  • High degree of self-motivation and discipline

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university.

  • Must be comfortable working with proprietary information and be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize is required

  • Prior internship experience preferred.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
