Job Description:

Responsible for the planning, layout, setup, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. Checks and inspects and builds machining operations against specified tolerances. May include work with fabrication, sheet metal operations, or machine hardware and assemblies. May also make recommendations concerning use of and improvement upon materials and design.

Note This position will start on first shift for training purposes, and then transition to second shift. Timeline may vary. Work split shift or 2nd shift with occasional weekend & on-call support availability.

Essential Functions:

• Skilled Manual Machinist with High tolerance precision machining

• Work split shift or 2nd shift with occassional weekend & on-call support availability.

• Pinning

• Shim Cutting

• Proficient in Lathe work

• Perform jobs from start to finish following drawings

• Experience or willingness to learn a 3-axis capable Acu-rite control Milling machine

• Willingness to support other Manufacturing (non-Machine shop) needs as well.

• Cultivates a culture that assures effective cross functional team work

• Performs job duties in a manner that complies with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures

• Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values

• Consistently at work and on-time

  Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

  Preferred Additional Skills:

• Lapping Experience

• Optical Handling Experience

• Space Aerospace experience desired

• Operating High Temperature Furnaces, Sand Blast Equipment, Low temp Freezers

• Computer Literacy – Microsoft Office product preferred (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
