Location: Wilmington, MA
About the Role:
We are seeking motivated and dependable Telecom Helpers to join our growing team in preparation for increased project work over the summer and beyond. This position will provide hands-on experience in the telecommunications field, supporting projects in the Wilmington, MA area. You’ll work closely with senior technicians to gain valuable skills in low-voltage cabling, including CAT5 and CAT6 installation and fiber optic basics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Pull, terminate, and punch down CAT5 and CAT6 cables.
• Assist in running cables from office cubicles to network closets.
• Work in construction and renovation job sites, coordinating with other trades such as electricians and HVAC teams.
• Follow project deadlines and maintain job site safety standards.
• Support senior technicians with daily responsibilities and equipment setup.
Qualifications:
• Some experience in low-voltage cabling or a related trade.
• Familiarity with construction or commercial job sites.
• Punctual, eager to learn, and able to follow directions.
• Basic hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, drills) required.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• OSHA-10 safety certification or willingness to obtain before starting.
Preferred Skills:
• Closet preparation experience is a plus.
• Understanding of fiber optic cable handling (e.g., avoiding 90-degree bends).
• Positive and hardworking attitude.
