Job Description:

Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)

Winchester Hospital

Operating Room

Join the OR team at Winchester Hospital by assisting specialist physicians in the coordination and delivery of high quality, safe patient care. This position provides care for our inpatients, under the supervision of our physicians, and collaborates with the rest of the health care team, including the patient and patients' family/significant others, to achieve expected outcomes. This position is a credentialed member of the Hospital’s medical and allied healthcare staff and is an independent licensed professional.

This is exclusively a nighttime position. Three 12-hour shifts per week.

Requirements:

  • Clinical experience in Surgical Services

  • Ability to first assist in the operating room, including robotic surgery

  • Ability to perform procedures at the bedside

  • Provide post-op care on the floor and ICU

  • Evaluate and admit patients from the ED

  • Evaluate surgical consult patients

  • Basic computer skills, EPIC preferred

Preferred:

  • Masters of Science of Physician Assistant Studies with focus in specialty field

  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in a specialty

  • Surgical Services:

  • Experience with chest tube placement management preferred but not required

  • Managing General, Vascular, Thoracic, Spine and Gynecologic Oncology surgical patients.

Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science of Physician Assistant Studies with focus in specialty field or;

  • Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner License

  • State and Federal DEA Licensure

  • Surgical Services: BLS and ACLS
