POSITION SUMMARY
Accounts Payable Administrator specializing in the daily supporting of A/P function as well as supporting general accounting with analysis and in month-end closing duties.
The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer-driven innovation and a win-first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform Accounts Payable function as well as a variety of duties in support of the Accounting Department, working under the general direction of Supervisor and/or Controller.
Open and stamp incoming invoices and process in system for payment.
Edit and process expense reports.
Coordinate approval of non-P.O. related invoices.
Audit A/P vouchers by verifying P.O. receipts, edit Qty./Unit price invoiced against P.O. receipts and get purchasing approval for discrepancies.
Prepare weekly (or as required) check run/distribute and file paid invoices.
Answer vendor inquiries. General problem solving.
Back up for A/R cash receipts entry and posting, and for invoicing as required for Tecomet.
Track operating expenses to determine monthly accruals for standard A/P items: Gas, etc.
On a monthly basis, provide support for month end, including preparing A/P accruals, reporting sales and use tax filings, prepare and post journal entries, run and post A/P closing reports, update prepaid schedules, reconcile and replenish petty cash fund. Update and distribute sales commission report. Provide backup to general accountant for capital assets.
Annually: prepare and distribute 1099’s.
Prepare journal entries for accruals if needed.
Maintain related records, files in up-to-date condition.
Maintain office area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition.
Follow established company/department rules and regulations and maintain quality standards.
Perform other related duties as required or directed.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
High School Diploma
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing accounting environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Excellent Computer skills MS Excel, Word and Office. Syteline ERP would be a plus.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent reporting skills
Must be a team player.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent data entry skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
