Job Description

About the Role:

Cyient has an opening for an Electrical Engineer within our Telecommunications Team located in Erie, PA office. You will review, analyze, and design the electrical plans for all Cell Site locations. You will work with the Outside Plant Engineers, Field Survey team and local power companies to design all power requirements for cell site equipment and surrounding lighting fixtures. You will also conduct site audits to determine available power and propose upgrades, as needed. You will design and present electrical designs to the customers, consultants and local power company authorities. You will report to the Project Manager in Erie, PA.

You Will:

  • Prepare detailed drawings for projects using the application of electrical theoretical and practical design knowledge.

  • Conduct independent electrical site audits and site surveys to determine existing conditions at project sites which include buildings and remote telecom facilities.

  • Develop short circuit and voltage drop calculations.

  • Size conduit, conductors and electric services to comply with NEC standards.

  • Design and specify electrical distribution systems including disconnects, panel boards and meter centers.

  • Prepare interconnection designs based on the utility provider requirements

  • Perform basic electrical design for small, interior spaces to include power, lighting, fire alarm and mechanical equipment connections.

  • Coordinate with and determine power company requirements for specific projects.

  • Communicate with clients, consultants, project personnel and inspecting authorities.

You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 2+ years of experience with Electrical Engineering in Cell Site/ A&E Design

  • 2+ years of experience with Outside Plant Engineering infrastructure (Aerial, UG, Buried)

  • 2+ years of experience with NEC (NEPA 70) standards and regulations.

  • 2+ years of experience with local and state power regulations and applications for new service.

  • 2+ years of AutoCAD experience

  • Ability to travel to various existing/proposed cell site locations.

  • Ability to walk in various terrain in various weather conditions.

  • Valid driver's license/insurance required.
