About the Job

Responsible for the supervision of the BCC administrative secretarial and film/file clerk staff on day, evening and weekend shifts. Assumes operational control of the department in the Manager’s absence. Responsible for effective supervision of BCC Medical Records processing (Assembly, Analysis, Filing, Correspondence) in compliance with legal aspects of medical record documentation and release of information, with licensing and accreditation standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Associate Degree required. An additional two years of directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.

  • At least five years prior office, medical accounts billing and/or healthcare experience preferred. At least three years experience supervising staff.

  • Good Working knowledge of Word, Microsoft access, and Excel is required. Good working knowledge of computerized information and/or scheduling system (ex. MediTech) preferred.

  • Excellent customer service, organizational skills, telephone and communication skills required.

  • Knowledgeable about current medical record requirements for healthcare facility.

  • Knowledge of safety, infection control and quality control standards required.

  • Understanding of medical technology.
