American Tower Program Manager, Construction Services in Woburn, Massachusetts

The Team

We are seeking a Program Manager of Construction Services to join American Tower’s U.S. Tower division’s Construction and Development organization. The organization delivers all new assets and customer services programs while managing capital improvement and structural redevelopment projects across the Company’s U.S. portfolio. Day to day you will work in internal and customer systems to tailor and implement program controls, reporting requirements, and adherence to contractual obligations as required for each account’s needs, all while partnering with the Director Construction Services to be the Company’s primary point of contact for customers’ escalations at the headquarter level. As a Program Manager of Construction Services, you will partner with leads in the Construction, Engineering, Finance, Shared Services, Legal, Leasing Operations, and Network Operations departments to draft, communicate, implement, and troubleshoot project plans that respond to customers’ needs and meet the Company’s business requirements.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Planning, Engineering, or Construction Management required; Project Management Professional certification preferred.

  • Minimum 8 years of construction experience required.

  • Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills required.

  • In-depth knowledge of the construction and permitting of telecommunications facilities, along with a well-rounded understanding of wireless carrier deployments, required.

  • Proven ability to drive change, optimize processes, and standardize deliverables.

  • Approximately 35% travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.

  • Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for yourself and a team to meet requirements and deadlines.

  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate a team to achieve results.

What You Can Offer Us

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and communicate the strategic visions and directions of the Company’s construction services offerings.

  • Review profit and loss (“P&L”) performance for the construction services business and ensure accurate project forecasts. Prepare program level monthly revenue and gross margin forecasts in close partnership with the Financial Planning & Analysis team.

  • Partner with Project Managers and Construction Managers to ensure consistent adherence to design standards, contractual scopes, service level commitments, pricing structures, and all other terms and conditions of customers’ agreements.

  • Create and leverage data analytics to identify internal and external challenges, help understand areas of opportunity, identify root causes, create recommendations for success, and provide visibility to overall program performance.

  • Oversee all construction services contract negotiations, scopes of work, and pricing proposals in support of new and expanded services offerings.

  • Provide subject matter expertise for the Company’s construction services business; directly interact at the headquarters level with our top wireless customers regarding all matters related to the construction services business, including national reporting, service level commitments, dispute resolutions, and proactive engagement in ongoing process optimization initiatives.

  • Demonstrate leadership by defining program risks and working with internal groups and project teams to create proactive strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.

  • Other duties as assigned.
