The Security Project Manager plans, directs and coordinates activities of the project team to ensure that the goals and objectives of their projects are accomplished on time, implemented at or below the estimated cost and to the customer’s satisfaction. The Security Project Manager:
Supervises and directs project team during planning, estimating, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, turnover and warranty of assigned projects.
Provides leadership, vision and direction for assigned employees.
Participates in pre-bid reviews and sales to operations turnover meetings.
Manages the development of project plans in advance of project activity assuring effective execution by the project team. Prepares and updates project schedule and cost estimates.
Coordinates and provides direction for the budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost and construction functions as they relate to project completion. Oversees equipment procurement.
Coordinates project in accordance with contract documents and approved sales estimate.
Negotiates, prepares, issues and executes change orders to owners, subcontractors and others.
Monitors progress to assure compliance with the pre-determined execution plan. Utilizes financial and monthly forecasting tools to monitor, manage and control costs.
Prepares project schedule of values, progress billings and assists in pursuing timely payments from the customer. Reviews and approves subcontractor invoices for payment.
Coordinates and directs project closure to customer including the completion of all close out documentation (ex: as-builts, billings, collections, payments and all project records).
Prefer 4 year degree in a construction related curriculum or experience equivalent to a 4-year degree
3-5 years hands on Project Management experience or at least 5 years of construction related experience
Advanced understanding of access control systems, IP video systems, intercoms, and intrusion systems.
Demonstrate competency in estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, field supervision, financial reporting, client relationships, interpersonal skills, computer skills, safety/risk management and communication skills
Focus on customer retention and satisfaction
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Word, Project and Excel
Strong leadership skills including team leading, employee mentoring and development and the ability to empower others through delegating responsibility
