Job Summary
Full time. 3p-11p. To assist patients and/or referral sources in making arrangements for timely access to appropriate treatment services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate, in a professional manner, with patients, families, friends and other referral sources in order to expedite the admissions process.
Make appropriate referrals to Community Services, Outpatient and Day Treatment Services.
Utilize resource guides, listings and directories when referring patients to alternative treatment providers and appropriate levels of care.
Conducts appropriate follow-up of pending intakes and scheduled admissions.
Secure appropriate signatures and ensure accuracy for release of information, consents for treatment and/or billing forms, as identified in the Department Manual.
Conduct preadmission screening interviews, recording intake and insurance information ensuring that sufficient data is collected so that an appropriate level of care can be determined as identified in the Department Manual.
Makes complete and accurate entries into the manual and computer patient registration system as identified in the Department Manual.
Other duties as assigned
Education/ Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge of chemical dependency and 12 Step Recovery programs a must. Strong written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills. Past customer service experience a plus. Computer proficiency required.
Experience in hospital admissions or administrative support preferable.
