The Business Systems Analyst assists with resolving lab test and result code mapping issues by reviewing interface error logs, works with team and vendors to address issues and make corrections. In addition, this role will populate Excel spreadsheets with new lab information and mapping, including indication of sensitive nature of test and source (blood vs. other) etc. Lastly, the Business Systems Analyst will proactively address and communicate issues that may arise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with vendors / partners to map external lab test and result codes to representative CPT and LOINC codes, respectively

  • Update EHR by mapping similar test results (e.g. pap smears done using slightly different methodologies) in order to display new lab results as part of a trend in the EHR accurately and efficiently

  • Maintain results classification within EHR system to display new lab results in the correct place (e.g. hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.)

  • Builds strong relationships with IT, vendors, and other staff members to regularly address issues and opportunities for improvement

  • Processes workflow changes with vendors and staff to reduce potential impacts to lab mapping or improve patient safety

Required Qualifications:

  • Epic certification - EpicCare Ambulatory, CareEverywhere, and or Beaker or 3+ years of experience working with Epic applications

  • 3+ years of experience with labs, results and procedure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or related field of study

  • 2+ years of experience with laboratory, microbiology, pathology, and cytology typically performed by hospitals and reference labs

  • 2+ years of experience working with Microsoft applications and Excel
