Open Sky Community Services Career Counselor (Employment Specialist) in Worcester, Massachusetts

Description and Responsibilities
Open Sky’s Career Services are provided within the Adult Community Clinical Services Teams and collaborate with Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission Competitive Integrated Employment Services. These services help individuals identify and pursue their employment and career goals by searching for jobs based on the individual's interests and strengths, resulting in finding and maintaining competitive employment.
Career Counselors follow the guidelines and components of the Competitive Integrated Employment Services model to support individuals in stabilizing their employment and reach successful employment outcomes. They also assist individuals with integrated employment opportunities specific to individuals in their Career Plan based on their interests, skills, abilities, and needs.
Other Key Responsibilities:
Understand, embrace, and operate within the recovery model.
Assist individuals in accessing benefits.obtaining information about their benefits (SSI, Medicaid, etc.) and understand how benefits may affect their employment.
Determine individuals’ vocational readiness through the development of relevant skills including completion of job applications, resume writing and interview preparation .
Conduct career, functional, employment assessments and complete the Career and Education Inventory.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
Valid Driver’s License, acceptable driving record and reliable transpiration, required.
Minimum one year experience working with individuals with disabilities (including behavioral health challenges).
Employment Specialist certification or certifiable.Bicultural/Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply!
