State of Massachusetts Food & Nutrition Student Intern in Worcester, Massachusetts

The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking to hire a student intern who will support the Food and Nutrition Department. The Food and Nutrition Department is seeking students to provide a-greater understanding of large-scale food service operations, therapeutic diets and improve culinary skills with hands on experience through supervised tasks, mentoring and shadowing. This internship opportunity is for an undergraduate student who must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited College or University. Preferred Qualifications Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency preferred _Period of Service:_ May 28, 2024 - August 31, 2024 _Additional Information:_ Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals. All employees will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit. The salary for this position is $18 an hour. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Days Off: Saturday and Sunday _About Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WHRC):_ Located on over 100 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is part of an integrated network of effective, efficient and culturally competent mental health services. It provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who live in Massachusetts, as well as individuals requiring specialized court ordered evaluations. WRCH provides inpatient services to 290 adults, inclusive of a Deaf Inpatient Mental Health Service, and 30 adolescents on the ACCU. _DMH Mission Statement:_ The Department of Mental Health assures and provides access to services and supports to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to live, work and participate in their communities. The Department establishes standards to ensure effective and culturally competent care to promote recovery.
