Physician Assistant | Hospital Medicine – Reliant Medical Group

As a part of OptumCare, the largest network of medical groups in the nation, Reliant Medical Group is seeking a Part Time evening/night (32 hrs) Physician Assistant to join our Acute Adult Hospital Medicine program at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. At Optum, we are transforming healthcare nationally while providing Physician-led care locally.

Position Highlights

  • Part time 3 (Three) nights a week. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights.

  • Will join a night MD colleague and collaborate with a strong and supportive team model already in place for several years.

  • Welcome new graduates, most MDs and APs currently in our team joined us as fresh graduates.

  • Continuity partnership with reliant PCPs , allows familiarity with same patient panel, families.

  • Continuity based hospitalist practice model allows consistently high-performance, quality metrics in all domains, promotes job satisfaction

  • Provide comprehensive care to a select population of patients in the specialty

  • Perform age appropriate physical assessments, evaluation and treatment for primary care patient base seeking services from the organization

  • Take history, including chief complaint, presenting illness, past medical history and interval history. Performs age appropriate physical exam as it relates to chief complaint

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department

  • Ability to work with acutely ill patients and families doing medical histories and medical reconciliations

  • Ability to work with Physicians, AP's and nursing staff to assist with admissions through the emergency department

  • Order lab studies when indicated. Identifies differential diagnosis. Assesses severity of patient’s illness and establishes need/time for patient evaluation. Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings in the history and physical in order to establish a diagnosis. Performs tests and procedures as directed by diagnosis

  • Establishes age appropriate plan of care related to patient’s identified problem, including medication, diet, therapeutic procedures, etc. Consults with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed by the commonwealth of Massachusetts board of registration as a Physician Assistant

  • Graduate of an accredited AP program

  • Maintains BLS certification, professional certification as appropriate

  • Flexibility with schedule to be available to meet the needs of our patients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in EMR systems & technology
