Under the direction of our Director of Marketing, this position will play a key role in accelerating our growth in new applications and markets. Acting as an internal consultant, the Market Development Manager will be working in close collaboration with our business teams, interacting with research as well as sales & product management, to understand our business and identify growth opportunities to discover new revenue generation sources for Saint-Gobain. Your work will combine data gathering from reports and online searches as well as interviews of key industry players, prospects and customers to identify market trends and our capabilities to grow in the future. You will work using an iterative approach with short cycles of data gathering, analysis, and intermediary conclusions to progressively build solid value propositions for the new markets and applications.

This role will be an individual contributor with no direct reporting relationships. The Market Development Manager will largely build their own team through strong connections with the businesses. In order to do this, Saint-Gobain is looking for a Market Development Manager with a positive approach to learning and exploring new ideas for the future of our business.

Main Tasks:• Work closely with business and research teams to understand our core competencies and use this knowledge as a starting step when looking at potential new applications / markets.• In collaboration with our Research and Development and business teams, you will identify new applications, material platforms and /or technologies which could represent relevant new business or market opportunities.• Develop and quantify value-creating scenarios to capture new business opportunities• Identify, compile, validate and summarize information on applications, material platforms or processes that would lead to new significant business opportunities. Share main outcome with the business leaders using appropriate digital tools• Identify, compile, analyze, validate, summarize and extrapolate strategic data on market and trends, including competitive information (financial, value chain, segmentation company profiles, academic players), corresponding to the identified opportunities.• Make synthetic recommendations and propose pragmatic solutions to the management based on market and technology assessments. Debrief and support the team in charge of the next steps for a smooth transition.

• BS Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience or MS with 3+ years of experience. MBA preferred.• Experience in Marketing and/or Application Engineering and/or Business development and/or Consulting Services.

• Fast learner, comfortable with change & new environments. Big picture & analytical thinker.• Curious, avid to learn.• Creative, able to connect dots and approach problems from different perspectives.• Project leadership including project management, team collaboration, and oral and written communication skills are required.• Ability to interact with customers, internal and external subject matter experts to uncover problems and un met needs and exhibit customer empathy• Knowledge of Saint-Gobain materials, products, processes and/or markets is a plus.• Ability to travel about 25% of the time
