This position is responsible for managing sourcing of strategic materials for Surface Conditioning business, strengthening the resilience of the raw material supply chain, and managing end to end supply chain to ensure a high quality service to the customer. The incumbent will be responsible for purchasing. As part of this mission, s/he will be responsible in identifying and qualifying alternate suppliers to lower the scope 3 carbon emissions of Surface Conditioning.
Increase resilience of Surface Conditioning business with regard to strategic raw material materials suppliers
Develop second source suppliers for single and sole source suppliers
Manage supplier relationships, timelines, and plan qualification processes with the Surface Conditioning technical team
Meet key strategic suppliers and audit their financial health and business continuity plan
Develop sourcing options and supply chain routes with lower carbon footprint in line with Saint-Gobain strategy
Propose and lead the roadmap to lower scope 3 carbon emissions of Surface Conditioning , taking into account the growth of the business.
Working capital management
Work closely with the manager of clear coat business within Surface Conditioning (located in Worcester, MA) in order to manage inventory and place orders for raw material, interfacing directly with the suppliers and follow up with suppliers
Work closely with business manager to lower working capital while ensuring the customer on time performance
Payments terms and on-site consignment negotiation
Review and set priorities for the Purchasing Specialist
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field and experience working in a manufacturing environment is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
Technical background in a manufacturing environment - at least 3 years of experience is required.
Purchasing, negotiation - at least 1 year of experience is preferred.
